No Surprises.

Every project is different, but here are realistic ranges for typical work:

  • One-page landing page: $500–$800
  • Simple 4-page site (home, about, services, contact): $1,000–$1,500
  • 6–8 page site with more content or complexity: $1,800–$3,000

If you'd like me to handle hosting and domain registration, I charge $24/year for the domain and $19/month for hosting, billed annually. Prefer to use your own provider? No problem at all.

How I Price My Work

I submit a detailed proposal before any work begins. It breaks the project into components — design, content, specific pages, any add-ons — so you know exactly what you’re getting and what it costs. You review it, ask questions, request changes, and when you’re satisfied, you approve it. That approval is the contract. No work starts before that happens.

I bill at $75/hour. Why hourly? You pay for actual work — not a padded estimate. If the job comes in under estimate, you pay less.

A typical proposal covers:

  1. Basic website design (colors, fonts, navigation, layout)
  2. Text content, if you want me to provide it
  3. Additional pages beyond the core set
  4. Ongoing webmaster services, if needed
  5. Any specialty items (e-commerce, booking systems, response forms, etc.)

That granularity lets you decide what belongs in the first phase and what to defer. Ongoing arrangements vary — some clients ask me to occasionally make small updates, others prefer a standing monthly retainer. We can figure out what fits once the project is underway.

Time Savers

Thirty years of web work has taught me what wastes time and what saves it. Here's the short version:

  • Give me all the text content at once. Dribs and drabs cost you money.
  • Give me all the photos at once. Same reason.
  • Don't drag the project out. Re-opening a project after a gap takes time to get back up to speed.
  • Establish priorities. Items that aren't essential to launch belong in Phase 2. Let the first phase deliver value before expanding.

My top priority is a website that works — one that justifies what you invested in it.
